Anxiety, panic attacks and the physical manifestation of anxiety can be utterly debilitating, it can change what you do day-by-day and can ultimately alter your life and leave you feeling pretty down.
It can often feel like the way you feel in those moments of high anxiety will always be there and you’ll always suffer with it.
But that doesn’t have to be the case.
If what you’ve just read has resonated with you then I might be able to help you.
My name is Chris Piercy and I run Dorchester Hypnotherapy – I’m a Professional Clinical Hypnotherapist that uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) alongside Hypnotherapy to help reduce anxiety even in the most anxious of people.
Hypnotherapy when has been proven time and again to be a very effective way to relieve the symptoms of anxiety.
When combining Hypnotherapy with other therapies such as CBT it becomes even more effective.
I saw Chris for anxiety around public speaking and social anxiety which had begun to reach a crisis point in my life.
He used both an approach of hypnosis, grounding techniques, as well as frank discussion to challenge myself in a positive way.
All of these have now helped me to be more confident, test myself, and have a full set of tools to rely on and use when any anxious feelings arise.
My experience was not necessarily about him curing me, but more about him enabling me to cure myself and I thank Chris for this.
In short, I fully recommend Chris, he’s approachable, it felt a safe, welcoming environment and also gave some great straight talking.
Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy for Anxiety
In our sessions we will discuss which situations, people, places or circumstances cause you to feel anxious.
CBT examines the thoughts and behaviours surrounding anxiety.
Thoughts surrounding particular triggers can be examined, discussed, reframed and then replaced with better, more helpful thoughts leaving you feeling more positive and grounded.
Further to this we can use hypnosis to imagine going through scenarios and situations which would normally bring about anxiety but doing so in a calm way.
By practicing these scenarios in your imagination time and again you can build your confidence about facing them in real life.
The audio from these sessions can be recorded so that you can listen to this outside of our time together to maximise the impact of your therapy.
Hypnotherapy for Panic Attacks
Sometimes when anxiety really gets too much for us our body can have a panic attack or anxiety attack which can leave us shaken, debilitated and unable to do anything at all.
For some people the thought that a panic attack might happen is what causes the anxiety in the first place.
I can teach you coping mechanisms for this situations so that you can go into them in a much clearer and calmer frame of mind. With your mind full of much more helpful thoughts and being present in the moment.
